Ready to get started?

The  Georgia Driving School Association is dedicated to excellence in Georgia's driving school industry. For that reason, GDSA members get FREE access to DriveABILITY, whether you are a school or an individual member. If you want to start using DriveABILITY, simply become a GDSA member:

If you're a Program, you'll want to sign up for a Tier III membership (Institution).

If you're an Individual instructor who wants to maintain, manage & renew your own curriculum certification, you'll want to sign up for a Tier 1 membership (Individual).

Note: You'll still need to be licensed with the State of Georgia and pay any applicable licensing fees with them. DriveABILITY is a DDS approved Driver Improvement curriculum in the State of Georgia.

Frequently asked questions

School Programs: How do I get started as a school with DriveABILITY?

This is simple enough. All you need to do is become a member of the Georgia Driving School Association. From that point on, we will send you a welcome e-mail with instructions.

School Programs: How will I manage my instructors once our school gets access to DriveABILITY?

In your welcome e-mail, we will ask you to assign someone at your school program as the Seat Manager. The Seat Manager will add and remove instructors for your school so that they can log in and obtain their instructor certificates. Being a Seat Manager is pretty easy... if you've ever managed a Facebook group, it's about as difficult as that.

School Programs: What else does our school's Seat Manager do?

Your school's seat manager will be able to add and remove instructors, reset their passwords, and many other tasks to manage your instructors. This gives your school the power to fix 99.99% of issues without needing to contact external support.

School Programs: I'm currently teaching another curriculum. How do I swap?

Once you've generated your school's Program Certification, send it to your DDS analyst and let them know you're now teaching the DriveABILITY curriculum. Keep in mind the instructor needs to have an Instructor Certificate as well to teach the class, and your license needs to be in good standing with the State of Georgia. When it comes time for renewal, DDS will ask for an up-to-date certificate for DriveABILITY, which you can generate and print online.

General: What is the presentation like?

It’s very similar to a PowerPoint presentation, but it’s hosted on the driveabilityga.com website. If your instructor knows how to display a PowerPoint to a class, they will be able to handle the DriveABILITY Presentation pretty easily.

General: What if I need tech help with displaying the presentation to my class?

Thankfully the presentation is through the web browser, so there’s no special technology involved. There's nothing too fancy, so just about any nephew, friend of a friend, or IT company can have a tech help you with displaying the presentation to a class if you’re not sure.

Individual Instructors: How do I get started with DriveABILITY?

If you're an individual instructor, you have two options:
1. You can work under a GDSA member school and allow them to manage your license and access, or
2. You can obtain your own curriculum certification separately from the school as an individual by becoming a GDSA Individual member.

The first option is great because its free, and  it's ideal if you're a school employee and you teach at one school that's a DriveABILITY member. Schools receive up to 20 instructor certifications for free each year so this will cover most schools in the State of Georgia. If you leave that school, your certification will be good until renewal, but you'll need to find a new school to get access to renewals to access the DriveABILITY course.

The second option is for instructors who work independently for multiple schools and want to maintain their own curriculum certification. If that's you, you'll want to register for an Individual membership with the Georgia Driving School Association.

You can definitely do both! The GDSA will always welcome individual members, and if you decide to take a break, or change schools, you'll be in the driver seat of renewing your Instructor Certification.

Individual Instructors: If I'm certified as an individual, who is my seat manager?

DriveABILITY is your seat manager! E-mail Contact Link for Individuals

ALL Instructors: It's the morning of class and I forgot my login, help!

Any school you are working at should be able to make you an extra login or provide you with one in a pinch, even if you're an Individual Instructor. Worst case scenario they'll just need to create a user that has the DriveABILITY Driver Improvement Course Program only and let you get rolling- students are waiting!

General: Where's the speakers notes???

It's the paperclip when you open the presentation. Don't miss it!
